Surface IT has traded under licence in Dhaka since 2019, first from Gulshan and today from Dhanmondi. In the early years it mostly taught: design, web and digital skills, to students, under the name Surface IT Institute. Software ran alongside the courses.
That balance has reversed. Today it is an independent studio of one engineer, designing, building and operating 3 products of its own across personal finance, wellbeing and AI, on iOS, Android and the web.
Being small is the point. There is nobody to hand your project down to. The person who scopes the work writes the code, ships the store release, carries the pager and answers the support mail, which is why the engineering standard does not slip between the pitch and the production build.
